SKU: nichols-monu Categories: ,

Description

“Monument” by Caleb Nichols measures approximately 30″ x 12″ x 5″. Caleb has mastered the standards of blowing, casting, annealing and fusing. He has even developed a new technique of his own: smashing. “I blow these forms,’ he states, ‘then hit them with a hammer.’ This leaves him with chunks of glass that become fog, froth, foam, waves, beach stones and boulders in his fused works. The technique, which allows him to work bigger without requiring assistance, gives his work its distinctively rough dynamics.” *Picture is representative of the piece and may not be identical. Each piece is individually handmade and will have subtle differences.
